Furutech Audiophile upgrade

Furutech Audiophile upgradeThe world of audio is continuously changing, and many things have been introduced to improve the sound quality. And new components added to the marketplace. So, today, I am introducing the Furutech audiophile upgrade.

Furutech Audiophile upgrade

Meticulous build quality is a large part of the engineering equation. Furutech Pure Transmission technology turns a macro lens on every element of power and signal transfer, applying optimised engineering solutions to well-known problems such as contact resistance, EMI and RFI rejection, grounding, and using the best materials and processes available.

The Furutech FI-28M (R)

Furutech Audiophile upgradeThe Floating Field Damper completely solves the most significant problem you never realised you had. And by star grounding the metal parts in which floating magnetic fields created by current flow through the connector. A precisely engineered, sprung metal bridge ties the various pieces together and shunts the potential to ground, significantly reducing distortion for ultra-clean and stable power transfer. Floating field damper

Floating field damperCurrent flowing through a cable and its connector creates magnetic (and electrostatic) fields around them, building and collapsing 60 times per second in 120VAC systems. This magnetic field induces current flow–electrical potential–in small parts like the screws holding the connector shell together which have to be metal for tight clamping. The current flow in these small parts actually creates “floating” magnetic fields around them, and interfere with the cable/connector’s larger surrounding magnetic field resulting in noise and distortion.

The Furutech Floating Field Damper solves the biggest problem you never realised you had. By star grounding the metal parts in which floating magnetic fields are induced by current flow. As represented in the images below, a precisely engineered, sprung metal bridge in the connector body ties the various metal parts together and shunts whatever electrical potentials generated to ground. And significantly lowers noise by reducing distortion for ultra-clean and stable power transfer. Furutech Audiophile upgrade

Genuine connector

Furutech, use a number of specialist factories to make the various parts for their high-performance power connectors. These parts require equally specialised materials, hand selected by Furutech design team—right down to the screws. Furutech engineers then assemble the connectors in our quality controlled factory where each individual part is inspected and checked according to precise Furutech Pure Transmission guidelines.

Furutech has developed exceptionally strong relationships with each of our trusted part suppliers, partners who must maintain the same extreme level of quality as the legendary design team. Only through these strict standards can they ensure the power connectors are, in fact, the “ultimate” audiophile connectors.

No manufacturer goes to the expense and effort that Furutech does to develop and produce power connectors for the world’s most discerning listeners. There are no exceptions and there are no imitations—only Furutech materials and Furutech design can offer Furutech performance.

So, once again, ask yourself if your power connector is a genuine Furutech connector. Here’s a simple way to do that: a Furutech power connector will always have our highly regarded and innovative Floating Field Damper™, an earth/ground jumper System with US Patent No.: 6,669,491/ European Patent (EP1445837). You can explore this technology in more detail.

Connector Check

First, check for the small copper tabs at the screw holes that are highlighted in yellow above. In version “B” above you can see the Floating Field Damper bridge through the clear plastic cover. In version “A” you can only see the small tabs at in the holes.

Why is the Floating Field Damper technology so important to power connector performance? Current flowing through a cable and its connector creates magnetic and electrostatic fields that can build and collapse 60 times per second in 120VAC systems. The magnetic field induces current flow and electrical potential, even in small parts like the screws holding the connector halves together. (These have to be made from metal for tight clamping.) The current flow in these small parts creates multiple “floating” magnetic fields that interfere with the cable/connector’s larger magnetic field, resulting in noise and distortion.

The Furutech Floating Field Damper completely solves “the biggest problem you never realized you had” by star grounding the parts in which floating magnetic fields are created by the flow of current. Our precisely engineered, sprung metal bridge in the connector body ties the various parts together and shunts the potential to the ground, preventing the flow of noise and significantly reducing distortion for an ultra-clean and stable power transfer.

If your connector has the Floating Field Damper, you can feel confident that you have the finest connector available on the market. Quite simply, no manufacturer of low-cost imitation connectors will go to the effort and expense of incorporating this patented mechanism into their power connection products.

Materials

Your Furutech power connector will also include some or all of the following materials and technologies:

  • OFC grade copper
  • Nonmagnetic stainless steel damped parts clamps and housings
  • Piezo (carbon and nanoceramic) damping material
  • Precision-machined cable clamping mechanisms
  • Alpha Process treated metal parts (deep Cryo & demagnetising)
  • The Furutech Floating Field Damper system

Finally, your connector should also have direct rhodium or gold plating, creating a secret plating method that has taken the Furutech design team years to perfect. Only Furutech can offer these innovative technologies, which result in incredible performance from every single power connector.
